Chiringa Parish

Archdiocese of Blantyre

About Chiringa

Chiringa is our first twinned parish, linked since 2005. It is a rural community in the south of Malawi, in the Archdiocese of Blantyre. Life here is shaped by subsistence farming, and the community faces real challenges — access to clean water, quality schooling and healthcare are not guaranteed.

Our Partnership

Over twenty years, our support has included:

Funding for classroom blocks at local primary schools

Borehole sinking to provide clean water for the community

Emergency food distributions during drought years

Container shipments of clothing, equipment and supplies

Regular visits from Tonbridge parishioners

The Relationship

The link with Chiringa is the foundation of the whole project. It has taught us what genuine partnership means — not just giving, but listening, learning and walking alongside.
